The best place to stay in Paradise!

Just sit down, relax and in a few hours you will arrive in paradise‘, the captain said when we entered the plane that was going to take us to Maui. From San Francisco it is a 5,5 hours’ flight before you are able to set foot on one of the islands of Hawaii, which is the most secluded place on earth. We picked Maui to celebrate our one-year anniversary, which is a beautiful island formed by two volcanos. It has all the features a couple could wish for: white sand beaches surrounded by palms, amazing restaurants and romantic hotels..! Pure paradise ♥♥

The Plantation Inn

We stayed at The Plantation Inn, a romantic boutique bed and breakfast in Lahaina. This historical town is located on the west coast of Maui, which is known for its former sugar plantations. The Inn is finished with Hawaiian plantation style decoration so you get the feeling that you go back in time. Here you can experience the history of the island in a modern and luxurious way. Even though the Inn is located in the middle of the town and only two blocks from the Pacific Ocean, restaurants and shops, it is very peaceful and quiet. Every morning felt like waking up in paradise in our beautiful and large room with a view on the pool and the hot tub.

Gerard’s restaurant

After a dip in the water, we had the best breakfast that was served at the courtyard. As The Plantation Inn is also home to the award-winning Gerard’s Restaurant, we enjoyed the selections of Gerard’s Reversade. I loved the French Toast and the homemade yogurt while my husband had a food crush on the fresh bagel with salmon & cream cheese and croque monsieur. We also had dinner at Gerard’s Restaurant, on the lovely terrace. We enjoyed the modern island French cuisine in the most romantic setting. The food (the truffle pasta and the snapper) was truly to die for as well as the cocktails. And don’t forget to get the profiteroles, YUM!
