21 Oct Escape the everyday life in the most romantic way!
Last weekend we experienced the most romantic getaway along the Californian Coast line! We escaped the everyday life by staying at the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek & Spa, just 5 minutes away from the historic town Mendocino. After we drove all the way up on Highway One and stopped for oysters along the coast, we arrived at this amazing scenic Oceanside hotel in the afternoon. The innkeeper most kindly welcomed us and was very happy to show us around on the beautiful property! The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek in Mendocino is the oldest resort on the coastline of the North Coast. Its opening coincided with the completion of the ‘Shoreline Highway’ in 1932, now Highway One. Welcome to paradise! This lodge features 17 different eco-friendly cottages and rooms, each decorated with its own charm and theme. Each of the cottages are very cozy, romantic and have their own private patio. They all offer unique features, are designed for couples and are very pet friendly.
We just loved our view over the Ocean that we had from our beautiful Pacific View room. And not only the scene was stunning from this cottage, we also loved our airy coastal feel with a vaulted cathedral ceiling, the large bed, our private terrace and the whirpool jetted tub:
Yes, I know what you are thinking: #canlifegetanybetter?! This private whirlpool jetted tub for two was just amazing and we obviously had to enjoy it with a big foam party!
The Pacific Coast here is just amazing! Inn at Schoolhouse Creek in Mendocino is located on bluffs overlooking the ocean. It was just 135 yards from the Buckhom Cove which was another amazing secluded beach.
Happy girl!
A delicious breakfast was served at Circa ’62 where they offer a terrific American breakfast featuring local foods carefully prepared. The sweet waitress – who is also the blogger for foodfreaktonya – recommended me to try the Chia Pudding. Yum yum yum, I think I am addicted! And they also offer a separate breakfast menu for dogs and dog-chairs. Even if you don’t stay in this Inn, I sincerely recommend you to stop at Circa ’62 for brunch!
We also thought that the SPA at the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek was a great way to wind down as it had a cozy sauna and an outdoor hot tub with a beautiful view over the Pacific ocean. We also loved our little romantic gas fireplace where we lounged with our books and glasses of wine.
When we did the romantic walk to the Schoolhouse Creek we found this cute little bench, perfect for any couple!
After we checked out from our wonderful hotel, we also visited the cute little town Mendocino itself for an adventurous walk over the cliffs. The rain and the wind made it even more spectacular! After our walk, we went for some oysters and chowder. They are the best in Mendocino! Just like everything else! So what are you waiting for, go and visit Inn at Schoolhouse Creek in Mendocino!!
