Big Beach!

We visited many beaches on Maui, but Big Beach was my absolute favourite with its turquoise water, its beautiful, long, wide, undeveloped sandy beach and huge views. It is one of the most outstanding beaches in Maui and over a half mile long. As the waves can be big and powerful, there are three lifeguard stands divided on this beautiful beach..! And another plus is that this beach is the gateway to a secret beach:)!

Sunset and sunrise from the Haleakala vulcano

Watching the sunrise or the sunset from the Haleakala vulcano is one of the most beautiful experiences on the island! For the sunrise you have to make reservations in advance and come really early. Bring warm clothes and your camera, and maybe also some breakfast or snacks (and bubbles) to make this experience even more enjoyable!

Blowhole

The hike to this blowhole (a hole in the ground that connects to an underground, partially submerged ocean cave) was one of the coolest ones on the island. Once you come closer to the blowhole, you will see that the water is fierce fully forced trough a hole, every time a wave comes in the cave. Another cool thing is that we are standing on black rocks which was once lava…

Road to Hana

The Road to Hana is more than just a great drive through a beautiful area of Maui and is famous for many reasons. There are many beautiful waterfalls, hikes and beaches to explore. The drive will take you at least two to four hours to complete with its adventurous  one-lane bridges, hairpin turns and incredible island views. Make sure you stop at Waianapanapa State Park, where you can find one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Napili Bay

This Bay is absolutely stunning! It is a small beach where you can enjoy the palm tree shades, the clear blue water, and… Turtles!!! It was so cool to see these beautiful creatures from so close. If you look at the ocean, you can see the whales as well. Along this beach you can also find The Gazebo, a famous place to have breakfast or lunch. The pancakes and fried rice are a must-have!
