12 May 5 tips to get the perfect festival outfit and bag!
“My Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard…!” Do you remember the lyrics of this popular song by Kelis? I loved to sing along and dance while this song was bumping through the speakers. With these sunny days ahead I just can’t wait to go partying, especially at a superb festival. You probably already bought your tickets for the festivals this season and you might have even been to one. My first party will be this Saturday, the Fierce- Fashion Festival. That made me think about the perfect festival outfit and bag. What to wear and what to carry to such a party?
Festival fashion
Once I thought about it, I set five personal guidelines to create the best festival outfit. It should be:
Playful – we are of course attending a party so don’t go out in your everyday look;
Exclusive – you definitely don’t want to stand next to another girl who is wearing the same top as you are wearing;
Comfort – don’t wear heels, a sticky bra or something else that will only cause irritation;
On trend – like we have seen at Coachella festival, you are totally on trend with feathers, suede, fringes, big sunglasses, striking hats, gladiator sandals, lace, animal prints, etc.; and
Prepared on weather changes – don’t forget that we are living in the Netherlands where the weather is constantly changing.
I interpreted these five rules as shown in the pictures. Starting off with one of my favorite items being the skirt. I love the fringe trend and therefore wear this Goosecraft suede skirt (get Goosecraft skirt here). To comfortably dance all day and night long I always opt for sneakers and I think that these metallic Converse All Stars will just do the trick. Because I go for eye-catching accessories, I picked this plain black Mooia top (get similar one here). My colorful feather earring is playful and a real compliment catcher (you can read more about the one earring in this post: One Earring and get similar one here). In accordance with rule 5, be prepared on weather changes, I always bring sunglasses to a festival. I prefer to put on a fun or funky pair, like these Quay sunglasses, a popular brand from Australia. I completed this look with the perfect shoulderbag: Unicorn Tears Novelty Across Bodybag by Skinnydip. This is me realizing the exclusive-point, just like an unicorn tear. The story goes that once a unicorn sheds a tear, it dies within the hour. It is therefore and elusive and rare item to posses. Would you wear this Unicorn Tears bag in the form of a milkshake to your festival?
