23 Jun Pick & Spend
Grab your bag and go to Pick & Spend (Amsterdam)!
Last Sunday I was totally prepared to enjoy a good day of pre-summer… However, unfortunately we were cheated out of that 22-degree-sunny-Sunday! I therefore thought it was a good idea to soften the pain and to cheer myself up with a short visit to De 9 Straatjes.
As I parked my bike on the corner of the Keizersgracht and the Berenstraat, I spotted the store Pick & Spend! This store offers all great things on the market, both for women and men: apparel & accessories, home wear & furniture, gifts & cruisers and so much more..! Victor friendly welcomed me in and the relaxing atmosphere literally makes you want to shop till you drop!
Victor told me that there is a story in everything, in each and every item and brand. Pick & Spend wants to tell the narrative and the history, that is what is making them unique. The store offers a combination of the three most beautiful styles, being the (i) French style (romantic), (ii) American style (urban) and (iii) Indian style (colorful).
The products are all made of natural materials. In this context, the clothes are made of cashmere or natural cotton (e.g. the socks by Bonne Maison are made of Egypt cotton (which is the best cotton in the world) and is painted in Paris).
The cool cruisers by Johnny Loco are also for sale. Pick & Spend offers the entire package, including the accessories that are made by this retro-style brand, like the sunglasses and bags.
The home selection, furniture and the doors are made of traditional wood, which is called “damhout”. This way, the old wood is offered a new life and gives the clients a very rough robust piece of furniture.
Pick & Spend has a weakness for smaller brands and desires to create a small community where people can be brought together – to learn and to enjoy life! In this context, they also organize small events, like a whisky tasting, Johnny Loco biking tours, organic wine tasting, pop-up gallery and organic champagne tasting & dinner (click here – the next one is on 14 November).
You can also rent this venue for private dining! Moreover, the hairdresser named Ron sometimes visits the store to cut the hair of our visitors. Again, this way we can offer a total package: what you wear begins with your hair!
