Traditionally it is the groom who is in charge of the flowers on the big day. He selects the type of flowers, the colours and the shape of the bouquet for his bride-to-be. And on the wedding day itself he waits for the bride with the bouquet in his hands, which flowers symbolise fertility and everlasting love (good thought to start this big day, right?!). However, as wedding bouquets can be seen as an extension of the wedding dress, my groom and I agreed that it was better to let me decide on the flowers, which he will obviously hand me over when he first sees me once I walked down the stairs. For that reason you see many wedding bouquet inspiration on my Pinterest wall. It is clear that the options are endless and all lovely… There are the traditional flower bouquets as well as statement flower arrangements that are far from the basic bride. From bridal white to colorful bouquets, from traditional cascades to modern pageants or a pomander, a flower crown or flowers in your hair.
