MADE with love <3

Have you been introduced to the accessories of Made UK? I have as my very close friend gave me a beautiful necklace for my birthday. This friend has her own agency, Brands & Branding, and represents Made UK in the Netherlands (lucky me;)).

Made UK was established and made out of the idea to create a positive change in the design process and to produce unique fair trade jewellery. In 2005 the workshop in Kenya was opened where men and women are creating the most beautiful and unique accessories. This workshop employs approximately 60 skilled workers and offers safe sustainable employment, fair wages, ongoing education and training. These artisans aim to create the best products possible, all handcrafted in the traditional Kenyan way. They use environmental sound elements, which are recycled or are raw materials, sourced from local independent retailers in order to strengthen the local economy. Brass, as it is bold and beautiful, is their signature but they also work with other sustainable materials such as glass, suede and leather, which is tanned in a safe and ecological way (minimizing the carbon footprint).

Made UK has collaborations with leading retailers as Topshop and Asos, but also with talented designers and luxury brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Louis Vuitton.

The collection consists of unique fair trade jewellery (necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and anklets), bags and other accessories (headbands, belts, hair clips and scarfs). So take a look at their collection and I am sure you will find something that you feel is especially MADE for you!

Made is sold at Wehkamp and Nikki’s Style (online), at &KLevering, Mhoom, Hear Hear, Megalodon and Cotton Cake in Amsterdam and at BrandMission (Haarlem), Liefste Fashion (Den Bosch) and Gypset (Ulvenhout). You can also contact Brands & Branding if you want to know more about this amazing beautiful sustainable brand or these products.
