19 May To New Orleans with TOMS
Even though we just arrived in Houston and haven’t had that much time to discover our new home town, I went on another little road trip to explore more of the South. This time, I visited Louisiana, which border is only two hours away from Houston. It is the state that is known for jazz, culture and alligators. Louisiana, and its biggest city New Orleans, were largely influenced by France and Spain, which gives it a unique, artistic vibe. New Orleans is the city where jazz was born. Outside of this city, there are dozens of beautiful plantations to visit and to learn more about the (painful) history of slavery. And if you want some adventure, you can go on an air boat to spot alligators. The food is truly amazing and the kitchen is famous for its of Creole food (you must try Gumbo, Po-Boy and the bread pudding). The trip was extra fun as I got to travel with Toms. I love this label, as they do not only create fun, beautiful and practical shoes, bags, sunglasses and apparel, but they help people in need with its One for One ideology. With every bag you purchase, TOMS will help provide a safe birth for a mother and baby in need. And with every pair of shoes, TOMS will give a new pair to a child in need. I love my cute little backpack as it is perfect for any day trip as it fits a bottle of water, my camera and our travel guide. These sneakers are also very practical, fun and easy to pair with many outfits. What do you like to wear and carry when you travel?
