24 Feb My tips for when you have to do something new!
I started biting my nails, my palms started to sweat and my stomach felt funny. I was all by myself, in the changing room, knowing that the photographer was waiting for me on the other side. As well as the designers of the beautiful AnnaBorgia gowns. It was my first time in a studio, and I was a little over-excited. Because let’s face it, doing something for the first time can be quite scary. Whether it is your first presentation at your new job, bungee jumping or doing a photo shoot in a studio. However I thought myself a few tricks to make it a little easier when you do something for the first time. Tricks that could help you as well! So that is why I want to share four ways to ace that ‘something new’ next time!
- Dump the perfectionist in you. Of course, you want to give the very best you have, but as you are doing it for the first time, it is useless to strive for perfection. You are setting the bar too high and you’ll just feel bad when you are not able to meet the level you have set. In my case I figured that the photographer would take at least 100 photos of one look, so there must be at least one shot that the group would love, right?
- Forget about what you think that other think. First of all, I believe this is a waist of your precious time in general. As only because you can never truly know what others think and second, because if you believe in yourself, you know that you are going to give the best you have (and so should they know). And just remember, Beyonce wasn’t built in one day either;).
- Don’t forget the power of your smile! A smile is the best thing someone can wear. It can calm fear, insecurity, hurt and anxiety – and actually not only in yourself as a smile is contagious. It also makes you more attractive. So when you are having a small panic attack, just smile.
- Plan and prepare. Oke, this is the obvious one of course. But a very important one. It sounds stupid, but when I had to do this studio shoot, I searched on Pinterest and searched for ‘studio fashion shoot’ as I knew that I would find some inspiration to do well, even though it was my first time.
Annaborgia dresses
Now of course you also want to know a little bit more about the beautiful dresses that I’m wearing in this shoot. Annaborgia is a fashion label that is very close to my heart. They won the best sustainable collection 2016-award of San Francisco and each of there pieces are elegant and timeless. And there concept is also new: they are transforming wedding fashion and make it weddings more sustainable going into the future. Because lets face it, who wouldn’t want to wear these beautiful gowns more than just one day in your life. Especially if you are a fashionable lady with a conscious lifestyle. All Annaborgia’s textiles are animal friendly and wrinkle resistant. And they make you feel so beautiful <3
