23 Sep Old School Amsterdam
Grab you bag and go to Old School (Amsterdam)!
It is as if you are walking the stairs on the first day of your new school year when you are entering Old School – the restaurant located in a former school building. You are excited as you hear many voices and laughter, will be seated next to new people and hoping that your waiter will be nice! You turn around the corner and you see – in this case – a very cozy restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. I immediately like it here and I can’t wait to take a seat next to my new (class)mates for just one night. The blackboards are revealing today’s specials and the waitresses can teach us all about the different wines Old School is pouring.
We go for the mixed platter with daily changing delights, which was a delicious starter with the home-made bread and the recommended wines. As a main course we choose the lobster-pasta and mussels a la putanesca – all made of organic ingredients. Unfortunately we had no room left for a dessert, but I bet that that course would have been absolutely tasteful as well.
Old School brings food, art and culture together. This combination results in an enjoyable interaction. This place is perfect to go with your date, family or (big) group of friends or colleagues as this restaurant is accessible, serves high quality dishes (thanks to Chef Jerrey Gontscharoff) and has a very relaxed and warm atmosphere. The skyline of the Zuidas even looks extraordinary from this side and in summer you can enjoy their terrace where the sun is shining till late.
