MBFWA Catwalk?

Bag at You FashionWeek - Fae BagBag at You - MBFWA - Roller SkatingBag at You - MBFWA - Mirte van Wijngaarden

Wearing: Billy Bob Bag by Fae; Maison Scotch dress (get similar here); Adolfo Dominguez pumps (get similar here); earrings by Eenvoud and I inherited the necklace from my grand grand mother.

The fashion vibes are all over town as the Downtown program of FashionWeek Amsterdam started last Friday (check out this post for more information) and more importantly, the MBFWA Catwalk starts tonight! Have you visited any events yet? Are you planning to go this weekend and/or did you manage to reserve a seat at one of the fashion shows?

About the pictures in the above: last weekend I went to the event named “Fashion evolution” which was a true fashion fair in the Volkhotel with, amongst others, The Next Closet (where we could do some roller-skate-shopping), Are you Swedish?,  CP 113 and MOOD Conceptstore. As you might know we are making a short video about FashionWeek with Amsterdam Calling and we therefore interviewed Mirte van Wijngaarden, the talented fashion designer from Breda, the Netherlands. Her designs are known for the use of existing masculine elements which she converts and changes in an innovative way. I love her collections so far, which have very tough names such as Untouchable and Victorious.

So back to the MBFWA Catwalk, which kicks off tonight..! And yes, I am very excited as I am going to the following fashion shows:

On Friday: Bas Kosters in the Gashouder – here is a little preview based on his previous collections:

On Sunday: Mirte van Wijngaarden in the Transformatorhuis – here is a little preview based on her previous collection:

Mirte asked Janiek Koppe to design and create the bags for the models who are walking this show. Janiek’s collection can be characterized by simplicity and functionality. Each leather bag is handmade and inspired by techniques that were used before there were any machines. So here old-fashioned and modernity will coalesce! This sounds very promising, especially when we look at the bags by Janiek Koppe:

On Monday: Claes Iversen in the Gashouder – here is a little preview based on his previous collections:
