The best Manhattan you ever had..!

I secretly have a great weakness for cocktails. And the west-coast is facilitating this love very well! Now with the holidays coming up, I wanted to make sure that I can make an impression on my guests. I was therefore super excited to go to popular Hot Stove Society (click here) last Friday, which is located in the beautiful Hotel Andra in Downtown Seattle. It is a year-round cooking school operated by Tom Douglas, a Seattle group of diverse and popular restaurants. We had so much fun as I learned to make cocktails like a pro in a boozy and spirited atmosphere. As the holidays are coming up I wanted to share our experience (and recipe!!!) to create the best Manhattan you have ever had. Because everyone wants to impress their guests and with the right cocktail that will be so much easier. And if you ever have the chance to visit Seattle, make sure you visit Hot Stove Society for a dream cooking class!

Recipe for the perfect Manhattan cocktail!

Traditionally, the Manhattan cocktail is made with 2 oz. rye whiskey, 1 oz. sweet vermouth and 2 dashes of bitters (you can add more depending on taste). Now the important thing is that you stir the rye, vermouth, bitters and ice rather than that you shake it. After you stirred the drink, you strain it into a chilled cocktail glass. You can garnish with a twisted orange skin or a maraschino cherry. That’s it, you are ready to do the cheers!
