It is not often that you find a little gem that is just too cute to put down in words! Last weekend we visited the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek in Mendocino, an amazing hotel located on the coastline of Northern California. On Sunday we went for a walk over the cliffs of the little town itself. However, all of the sudden it started pouring rain. At first I thought that I could handle those drops of rain as I’m a Dutch girl, but this was a whole new level… I therefore ran back to the main street to look for shelter. And the closest place appeared to be a very – very – nice little shop.
The best shop in Mendocino
It was called the Mendocino Jams & Preserves and I fell immediately in love with the colourful decor. The gentlemen in the store kindly welcomed me and passionately started to talk about the products, including jams, mustards, peanut butters, ketchup and other butters. I could taste all the products for free and I was introduced to all kinds of new berries like olallieberry, loganberry and huckleberry. All the products are locally made from berries that are locally grown. If you go Mendocino, this shop is a must-visit because these jams are just out of the ordinary. But if you don’t have plans to visit this little town on the north shore of California any time soon, no worries. Mendocino Jams & Preserves ship anywhere in the world so you can also order online!
